I am seated on the wooden table, facing the pool. Rain has started to fall, cooling almost immediately what was a very humid afternoon. The drops are so fat and heavy, the blue water in the pool looks like pebbles are being thrown into it.
I am on the phone talking to someone wise about something that is tugging at my heart and running around in circles in my mind. I stare out as she speaks, helping me dissect why things are the way they are, why my particular something is what it is. She makes perfect sense, as she always does. The afternoon is looking very much like a rose-cut diamond, sparkling still, but shrouded in some lovely haze.
This very moment, all in the day is beautiful. Come to think of it, life is beautiful. Not perfect, but wow, it is beautiful.
